International Exchange Programs

(Ⅰ)Exchange Programs for Undergraduate Students for Dual Degree

The College has partnered a number of universities in Australia, the U.S., Europe and Asia for student exchange programs, including Monash University, University of Wollongong, Belarusian State Academy of Music, University of Lodz, Nagaoka University of Technology, University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Platteville and Stout, and University of Duisburg-Essen.

Student exchange programs are available to all the undergraduates of International College. They can apply for further study at the partner university after one, two or three years of study at Zhengzhou University. Upon completion of all the courses required by both Zhengzhou University and the partner university, they can receive diploma and degrees from both sides, which can be accredited by Ministry of Education of China when they come back.


(i) ‘1+3’ Program (one year study at Zhengzhou University and three years at partner university)

University of Wollongong, Australia (International Engineering School)

It is an internationally joint program at undergraduate level between Zhengzhou University and University of Wollongong as approved by the Ministry of Education. For more information, please visit Ministry of Education’s Supervision Information Platform for Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools or the Recruitment Program of Zhengzhou University for details. This program is geared to the needs of undergraduates majoring in computer science and technology, communication engineering, and electronic information engineering. Undergraduates taking part in this program should spend one year studying at Zhengzhou University and three years at University of Wollongong. The graduate education is scheduled for two years, and students in this program can apply to shorten the schooling duration by half a year or one year.


(ii)‘2+2’Program (two years of study at Zhengzhou University and two years at partner university)

Monash University, Australia (the School of Airport Economy Program)

This program is a dual degree undergraduate exchange program between the International College and Monash University. It is available to the sophomores majoring in economics, accounting, finance, international economics and trade, business administration, economic statistics, and visual communication. Upon finishing the two-year study at Zhengzhou University, the students should spend two more years studying at Monash University.


University of Lodz, Poland(the School of Airport Economy Program)

It is an internationally joint program at undergraduate level between Zhengzhou University and the University of Lodz as approved by the Ministry of Education. This program is geared to the needs of sophomores from business majors, including economics, finance, accounting, international economics and trade, statistics, and business administration. The students can apply for a two-year further study in economics at University of Lodz after two years of study at Zhengzhou University.


University of Wollongong, Australia (the School of International Engineering Program)

It is an internationally joint program at undergraduate level between Zhengzhou University and the University of Wollongong as approved by the Ministry of Education. This program is geared to the needs of undergraduates majoring in computer science and technology, communication engineering, and electronic information engineering. The undergraduates enrolled should spend a two-year study at Zhengzhou University and two more years at University of Wollongong. For graduate education: students enrolled can apply to shorten the two-year period of graduate schooling by six months or one year.


University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany (the School of International Engineering Program)

The International College and the University of Duisburg-Essen jointly launched Sino-German Excellent Engineers Project. This program is open to all the freshmen admitted into the School of International Engineering in 2018. A written examination and interview is to be presided by both sides, with applicants being selected based on the marks they get. After completing the elementary courses of corresponding majors and three or four courses required by University of Duisburg in the first two years of study at Zhengzhou University, the enrolled will continue to study for two more years at the partner university. The students should finish their graduation project and thesis defense in Germany to win a degree granted by the University of Duisburg. Then according to the partnership agreement, Zhengzhou University will convert the credits gained in Germany and award an undergraduate degree accordingly.

The University of Duisburg provides four courses for students while they are studying at Zhengzhou University in the first two years, to be taught in both English and German. Hence, the language requirement in enrollment is going to be lowered, with no requirements for taking DSH or TestDaF. What’s more, further language training courses will also be made available for our students when they get to Germany.


(iii) ‘3+2’ Program (Three years of Study at Zhengzhou University and Two Years at partner university)

Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan (the School of International Engineering Program)

It is an internationally joint program at undergraduate level between Zhengzhou University and the Nagaoka University of Technology as approved by the Ministry of Education. For more information, please visit Ministry of Education’s Supervision Information Platform for Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools or the Recruitment Program of Zhengzhou University for details. Oriented toward the junior students majoring in material science and engineering, this program is to be completed in two stages. Students enrolled will receive elementary engineering education at Zhengzhou University for the first three years, and then take the entrance examination for the third school year of Nagaoka University of Technology. Those who pass the exam will be able to complete a two-year study in engineering at Nagaoka University of Technology and receive dual certificate and dual degree conferred by both universities with required credits and a desired academic record. Those who fail the entrance examination will continue to receive one more year of undergraduate education at Zhengzhou University. When they have gained the required credits with a satisfactory academic performance, they will get an undergraduate diploma and a bachelor’s degree conferred by Zhengzhou University.


(iv) ‘3+1’ Program (three years of study at Zhengzhou University and one year at partner university)

This program is oriented toward undergraduates majoring in computer science and technology, communication engineering, and electronic information engineering. Students enrolled should study at Zhengzhou University for the first three years and then spend one year studying at University of Wollongong. For graduate education: students enrolled can apply to shorten the two-year period of graduate schooling by six months or one year.


(Ⅱ) ‘3+1+1’ Preparation Programs for International Graduate Studies  

The International College has launched master preparatory course programs in partnership with Monash University, France Montpellier Business School and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, for the undergraduates of Zhengzhou University. These programs are carried out in ‘1+1’ interdisciplinary mode, which integrates domestic educational resources and those from overseas. Such courses are bilingually instructed by outstanding faculty, to lay a good foundation for overseas study. They are set in two stages. Upon successful completion of study at Zhengzhou University, the students will go to the partner university and start the second stage of study. Those who are qualified for grant and have obtained all the required credits will be awarded a master degree by the partner university. Such degree can fulfill the accreditation criteria of Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange. Hence, the returnees will enjoy the same pay and other benefits as foreign students with the degree accepted all over the world.


(Ⅲ)The Undergraduate Preparatory School Program

This is an undergraduate preparatory education program between the International College of Zhengzhou University and France Film Academy (ESRA). The majors available consists of film performance, directing, film making, action star, music, dancing, and film and TV make up and so forth.

Students enrolled will spend one year studying at Zhengzhou University. The curriculum is designed and constructed as that of France Film Academy and the pedagogy is just as requested by the partner university, and is given in Chinese, English, and French. Those who complete their studies with a satisfactory academic report will receive a preparatory study certificate from France Film Academy (ESRA). Thus they are qualified to be admitted by the undergraduate programs of France Film Academy for further study. On completing all the required courses and fulfilling the graduation requirements, they will receive a bachelor’s degree awarded by France Film Academy, which meets the certifying criteria of Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange and is accepted worldwide.
