From September 26th to September 29th, 2023, the 15th International Conference and Workshop of the Infrared & Raman Users Group (IRUG) was jointly hosted by the Tokyo University of the Arts and the Tokyo National Research Institute for Cultural Properties. The conference aimed to advance reference spectra for infrared and Raman spectroscopy for the study of artworks, architectural materials, and archaeological materials, with a particular focus on data acquisition, processing, and interpretation using reflectance infrared techniques. The conference received assistance from Dr. Suzan de Groot of the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency and Professor Manfred Schreiner of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, as well as support from sponsors including Thermo Fisher Scientific.
