On the afternoon of March 4, 2024, Professor Deng Yuanbing, the Vice Dean of our College, convened a symposium in the conference room of the Muqing Research Center. This gathering was attended by over 20 current doctoral students, along with Fan Jianqiang, the teaching secretary of our Graduate Teaching Office, and Guo Chen, the head of the doctoral program.

Professor Deng began by outlining the objectives of the symposium. He emphasized the need to identify challenges in doctoral training, understand the difficulties faced by students struggling to graduate, and chart a clear path for the completion of each training phase for our current doctoral cohort. He encouraged the students to maintain a positive mindset and stay confident, urging them to strive to complete their studies within the prescribed timeframe.

Next, Professor Deng delved into the specifics of our doctoral training process, highlighting key stages and areas for improvement. He emphasized the need to further enhance the management of doctoral student training.

Finally, Professor Deng listened attentively to the concerns and challenges raised by doctoral students from all years. He addressed questions regarding the copy ratio test, thesis title changes, scientific research achievement requirements, and degree application criteria, providing clarity and guidance where needed.

This symposium served as a valuable platform for doctoral students to voice their concerns, seek clarity on training requirements, and receive guidance from the College's leadership. It was a step towards ensuring a smoother and more effective doctoral training experience for all involved.
