On April 12th, 2018 “Sunshine Sports Meeting” held by ZZU was grandly inaugurated in the Source Stadium. Li Jinchuan, deputy inspector of Provincial Education Department, school leaders Niu Shucheng, Qu Lingbo, Gu Zhenqing, Xu Dongsheng, Guan Shaokang, Han Guohe, Wu Hongyang, Ma Jiansheng, Party Committee Secretary of the Sias International College, and Zhang Shaotong, Party Committee Secretary of School of Physical Education, attended the opening ceremony. Nearly 20,000 teachers and students from more than 40 schools participated in the opening ceremony.

The solemn flag raising ceremony was held at the opening ceremony.

Vice President Qu Lingbo made an opening speech. He reviewed outstanding achievements of ZZU teachers and students in mass sports and competitive sports in the past year, and placed hope on athletes and referees.

Later, representatives of athletes and referees made vows.

The large-scale group calisthenics performance, “Chinaˊs strength”, opened the curtain of sports meeting. In the first chapter, “The Beauty of China”, nearly 1,000 female teachers from more than 50 departments of ZZU wore yellow clothes and held pink and yellow fans, dancing like butterflies with melodious accompaniment. The second chapter is “the Soul of China” and the third chapter is “the Ridge of China”. In the majestic “Yellow River Chorus”, all performers blend into one, waving their hands with the rhythm.
