The “China (Zhengzhou) International Summit Forum on Thyroid Diseases” was held in Zhengzhou and hosted by The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University on Nov.21-22. Thyroid Disease Committee of Chinese Research Hospital Association, Thyroid Disease Prevention and Treatment Branch of China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical Care, Henan Pharmacological Society and Henan Association of Chinese Integrative Medicine were the co-sponsors of the Forum.
Prof. Wang Qingduan, chairman of Henan Pharmacological Society, Prof. Wang Duanquan, secretary-general of Henan Association of Chinese Integrative Medicine, Prof. Tian Wen,chairman of Thyroid Surgery Committee of Chinese Research Hospital Association, Prof. Fang Jugao, first chairman of Thyroid Disease Committee of China International Exchange and Promotion Association for Medical Care, Prof. Deng Hongjun, vice chairman of Henan Association for Science and Technology, and Liu Zhangsuo, vice president of Zhengzhou University and president of The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University addressed the opening ceremony respectively. Yang Shengli, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering，sent a congratulatory letter to the meeting attended by nearly 200 thyroid experts from all over Henan province. Professor Yin Detao, chairman of the thyroid pharmacology Committee of Henan Pharmacological Society, presided over the opening ceremony.
The forum adopts a combination of online and offline methods. Prof. Tian Wen of Chinese PLA General Hospital, Dr. Michael Mingzhao Xing from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Dr. Quan-Yang Duh from University of California, San Francisco gave lectures through live webcast. Prof. Fang Jugao from Beijing Tongren Hospital, Prof. Song Ailin from The Second Hospital of Lanzhou University, Prof. Wu Yijun from The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Prof. Li Zhihui from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Prof. Zhang Fan from Chongqing General Hospital, Prof. Yin Detao and other experts in thyroid field in Henan Province delivered on-site lectures. Renowned experts in thyroid field at home and abroad had conducted in-depth academic exchanges on progress and new technology in thyroid disease diagnosis and treatment strategies, trend of thyroid disease, diagnosis and treatment strategies of thyroid diseases and hot topics in the research front.
