The establishment of Interdisciplinary Research Center for Sustainable Energy Science and Engineering(IRC4SE2) is an important measure for the school of Chemical Engineering of Zhengzhou University to develop double first-class disciplines and carry out the construction of new engineering disciplines. In terms of scientific research, the center actively promotes the cross-integration of new technologies such as new energy, nanomaterials, and machine learning with traditional engineering majors; In the field of the chemical industry, pay attention to industry development and technology integration innovation, focus on major national strategies, and build a high-tech innovative research center with innovation and entrepreneurship ability, cross-border integration ability, broad international vision and the concept of green and sustainable development.
The College of Chemical Engineering has a number of national key (cultivation) disciplines and the world's top 100 disciplines (Chemical Technology), master's and doctoral degree authorization points, and post-doctoral research workstations in chemical engineering and technology. Guided by the major energy needs of the country and Henan Province, the center focuses on interdisciplinary major issues such as energy, materials, chemistry, and artificial intelligence. At present, it has set up clean energy electrocatalysis and electrosynthesis; Solid electrolyte and all solid-state batteries; Practicality of next-generation secondary battery; Energy process simulation and machine learning.
Professor Zhou Zhen, the leader of the team, is a candidate of the national major talent project. He has published more than 300 papers in Chem Soc. Rev., Prog. Mater. Sci., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. ed., adv. mater, etc. His papers have been cited more than 30,000 times, and his h-index is 101. Prof. Zhou is one of the"Chinese highly cited scholars" of Elsevier from 2014 to 2020 and "Global Peer Review Awards" scientist of Clarivate Analytics from 2018 to 2021. In 2020, he was selected as a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). Now he is the associate Editor-In-Chief of J. Mater Chem. A, Mater. Adv. and Green Energy Environ. He is also the editor of batteries & supercaps, JPCA/B/C, 《过程工程学报》、《电化学》和《电源技术》.
