Biography
Dr. Shabir Hussain (侯赛因), born in 1990 in Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab, Pakistan, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Zhengzhou University. His research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, biomedical data science, multimodal learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and computational biology, with a particular emphasis on developing intelligent computational methods for healthcare and life-science applications.
His work explores how modern machine learning and deep learning systems can transform heterogeneous biomedical and clinical data into meaningful, interpretable, and actionable knowledge. His recent research includes spatial transcriptomics, medical image analysis, multimodal clinical intelligence, disease detection, explainable AI, and AI-assisted biomedical discovery.
Before joining Zhengzhou University as an Assistant Professor, Dr. Hussain was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Tsinghua University Shenzhen International Graduate School, where he conducted interdisciplinary research at the Institute of Biopharmaceutical and Health Engineering.
He has published research in internationally recognized journals including Briefings in Bioinformatics, Expert Systems with Applications, Scientific Reports, IEEE Access, Computerized Medical Imaging and Graphics, IEEE Sensors Journal, Applied Sciences, Computers, Materials & Continua, and other peer-reviewed venues.
In addition to research, he has extensive university-level teaching and academic mentoring experience and has taught courses in programming, machine learning, deep learning, databases, web technologies, and data science.
