The Zhongyuan Media Research Institute

The Zhongyuan Media Research Institute, also known as the Zhongyuan Media Think Tank, is a joint initiative of the Propaganda Department of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Zhengzhou University, established under the Agreement on the Establishment of a School of Journalism and Communication. It is a comprehensive research institute that integrates scientific research, think tank and consultancy functions, as well as an important platform of the Henan Provincial Co-operative Innovation Centre for Media and Social Development.

The Zhongyuan Media Research Institute draws on the expertise of our current faculty members, and collaborates with scholars in journalism and communication from other Henan universities, scholars in humanities and social sciences, experts in the provincial media industry, experts in the cultural industry, experts in film and audio media and relevant industry leaders. The Institute has identified several research areas, such as new media public communication, media and cultural industry, blockchain communication and film and audio media. The Institute mainly focuses on major national development strategies and key issues of economic and social development in Henan Province, with theoretical research and social services as its core missions. It also publishes the Annual Report on Media Development in the Central Plains regularly. The Institute has a training centre for journalism and medical communication, which relies on the faculty of provincial universities to provide high-level training services for journalism and propaganda departments and hospitals and medical institutions in Henan province.
