About the speaker:

Yu Guoming is a professor at the School of Journalism and Communication, Beijing Normal University. He is also an expert with special allowance from The State Council. The main social part-time jobs are: Member of the Subject Assessment Group of Journalism and Communication of Academic Degrees Committee of The State Council, Vice Chairman of Beijing Federation of Social Sciences, President of China Society of Media Economics, Vice President of China Society of Communication, Director of the Research Center of Journalism and Social Development of Renmin University of China, a major research base of Humanities and social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, Chief editor of China Media Development Index (Blue Book), Annual Public Opinion in China Chief editor of Report (Blue Book), etc. His main research interests include: new media research, public opinion, media economy and social development, research methods of communication. Up to now, he has authored and co-authored 26 academic monographs, textbooks and blue books, and more than 600 papers, ranking first in the number of citations in journalism and communication since 1979.
