On January 6, 2024, Quanzhou, Fujian, was the venue for the annual meeting of the Yearbook of Chinese Journalism and Communication, coinciding with a seminar dedicated to the establishment of an autonomous knowledge system for the field of journalism and communication.
Organized by the Institute of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Yearbook of Chinese Journalism and Communication has been a testament to the progress and development of the discipline since its inception in 2014. Serving as a chronicle, it documents the advancements in journalism and communication research in China, preserves the academic achievements of the community, and offers a comprehensive reflection of the annual accomplishments in the field. The symposium, on the other hand, aimed to foster the development of a distinctively Chinese knowledge system in journalism and communication, fostering a vibrant and cohesive academic community.
