Shen Shuang was born in Zhengzhou, Henan Province in September 1990, received her bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Communication at East China Normal University. She was a joint Ph.D. student on a national scholarship at Fordham University in the United States from 2018 to 2019. In 2021, she obtained her Ph.D. degree in Communication from East China Normal University.
Her main research fields are media culture, modern Chinese society, media theory and cultural studies.
